This course will examine famous Supreme Court decisions beginning with early cases authored by Chief Justice John Marshall. In subsequent weeks it will explore landmark cases expanding individual rights, such as Brown v. Board of Education invalidating school segregation, Roe v. Wade recognizing the right to terminate a pregnancy, and Obergefell v. Hodges striking down bans on same-sex marriage.
I welcome your suggestions for Supreme Court cases you would like covered in upcoming classes. This form will be available throughout the semester for you to make suggestions. You can submit it as often as you like.
